Have you ever been told to “mind your own business?” Well, here in Calvary’s youth department we are challenging each student to STOP minding their own business and START minding God’s.
Jesus’ response to Mary and Joseph at the age of 12, after he had been missing for 3 days was, “Didn’t you know I must be about my Father’s business?”
Our objective is that as each student understands more about their Creator and their specific purpose in life that they will personally determine to have this same mindset and prioritize “God’s business” above everything and everyone else.
As each student begins to question truth, and question life’s meaning and purpose in today’s dark and sinful world, we are fighting to keep the truth that God is the Author, Creator, and Finisher of life and that He is the only thing that can ultimately satisfy and bring lasting joy. Emphasizing that He did not just create us and leave us, but gave us His words in the Bible so that we can know Him and know how to live righteously, and that through a relationship with his Son we have the power to overcome all of life’s obstacles!
We want our students to KNOW God is real, that He loves, desires, and wants to use them! We challenge our students to allow Him to have control of their lives and in doing so to “stop minding their own business.”
Gal 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
We meet for Bible study every Wednesday @ 7pm, and we gather for our own worship service the first Sunday evening of every month. We also have several activities throughout the year to encourage our students to build friendships, build leadership skills, grow in their walk with the Lord, serve, and even just to have fun. We hope you will come and grow with us!
