Our Mission
Leading People to Connect and Commit to Jesus.
Our Vision
Our vision for the future of Calvary is simple; we want Calvary to be a growing, vibrant, missional church for this and future generations. We will stand on the truth of Scripture and we will not be swayed by the whims of our culture. We will teach the truth of God boldly and we will encourage members to relentlessly pursue a passionate life of reckless obedience to our Savior and King. We pray for God to add to His church as He pleases and we will strive to do anything and everything we can do to impact our culture with the life-changing, life-giving message of the gospel. We believe the result will be a church that resembles the churches established by that first generation of Christ followers. We also believe that the impact of such a church will spread across generational and ethnic lines, producing a church for anyone who loves Jesus and wants to learn of Him and serve Him.
Our Purpose
Calvary Bible Baptist Church exists to glorify God. To accomplish our purpose we must…
Exalt the Savior
We exalt God personally by giving Him our highest affection and placing Him above everything else in our lives. We exalt God corporately by recognizing that God through Christ is the head of this church.
Edify the Body
We edify the body by encouraging each other to develop spiritual depth and to live out godly character.
Equip the Believer
We equip each believer to serve through the teaching of God’s Word and personal discipleship.
Evangelize the World
We evangelize the world because we understand our responsibility and commit our lives to share the life giving message of the gospel.
Our Values
Biblical Authority (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Scripture is the truth of God revealed to man. God did not give us His word to simply increase our knowledge of Him, but to transform us to be like Jesus. As follwers of Christ we have a passion to read, study and meditate on what God is communicating to us though His Word. Ultimately God desires us to apply His Word so it will effectively change our thoughts, attitudes, motivations and behaviors.
Spiritual Intimacy (John 15:1-9)
God created us for His glory and to enjoy a loving relationship with Him. A relationship with God is only possible through faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross on our behalf. Those who are in Christ enjoy His presence, His peace and His provision. Because of this intimacy we live and thrive in His loving grace, not a set of prescribed mechanical rules and regulations.
Authentic Community (Acts 2:40-47)
God designed us to be connected to each other, not isolated from each other. Living in authentic community means we choose to connect with, include and involve others in our lives. It means we share our joys, our burdens and even our grief. It means we encourage each other and hold each other accountable. It means the church is a place for everyone to belong.
Personal Ministry (Romans 12:4-8)
God has a purpose and plan for every believer, and every believer has gifts, talents and skills that can and should be used to glorify God and advance His Kingdom in the world. God has specifically placed each of us in the church to make a meaningful investment in the body therefore we must serve.
Global Responsibility (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)
Compelled by gratitude for the grace we’ve received we now have a responsibility to spread the gospel of God’s great love and grace starting in Westerville, then spreading throughout Ohio and around the world. We are called to love our neighbors and the nations and we express that love through the propagation of God’s salvation plan.
